One Saturday lunch, we were very fortunate to be welcomed by the home cooked dishes of Jimmy & Tang's. From appetizers, soup, pork, chicken, fish, seafood, Bicolano dishes, dessert, Naga's original Kinalas and a whole lot more. Everything is served fresh and hot.
They say buffet's should be well planned in order for you to try and taste everything on the table. Well yes, with the numerous dishes served by this restaurant, you should really come hungry. For starters, soup served was Halaan and Papaitan. The last time I ate an authentic papaitan cooked by an Ilocano was in San Felipe, Zambales and my last visit to my relatives in Banna, Ilocos Norte. The Papaitan of Jimmy & Tang's? Well, it's good enough, that at least you'll get a glimpse of how this Ilocano dish really taste like. The restaurant has a strong foundation when it comes to home cooked dishes, remember Aling Conching's Restaurant located along the Diverson Road? They are the same people behind that resto. And oh they also have the Tabagwang fondly called "Lips to Lips" by many, a snail found in rice fields and usually cooked in gata.
Bopis or Kandinga will always be a personal favorite. Commonly sold in carinderias, the Bopis of Jimmy and Tang's is for the win!
Callos and Bicol Express |
The Callos was really tasty! In my opinion, it's the best in Naga! I heard that Jimmy and Tang's also serves one of the best Kare-Kare in the city, but sadly it was not available during our visit. The owners, Sir Jimmy and Ma'am Tang sees to it that you are being served well during your stay in the resto.
Kinalas! A buffet with Kinalas! This may be not be available during weekend buffets, lucky you if you they have one during your visit. They also have barbecue both pork and chicken. The calamares and fried shrimps are cooked fresh outside upon order, making sure they're fresh and crispy.
