'Heart of Bicol' is now Fibr-powered

NAGA CITY, Bicol, April 20, 2017 – The ‘Heart of Bicol’ is now one of the region’s first Fibr-powered cities.

PLDT Home’s nationwide rollout of its industry-leading fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) lines is bringing the country’s most powerful broadband to Bicol, and Naga City is at the heart of this groundbreaking development.

In addition to providing families access to internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps, PLDT Home is also opening its first sales and service center (SSC) in the city. The strategically located and spacious 165-square meter store at Centro Square, Penafrancia Avenue, will allow customers to transact with greater ease and speed and experience first-hand PLDT Home’s products and services. PLDT SSC Naga is the second after Nuvali.

Customers will also enjoy the unique features and innovative services inside the store such as Infotouch, a self-care kiosk where they can view and print their PLDT bills; a digital menuboard where they can shop for PLDT products; giant interactive screens where they can surf and play using a 32” Telpad; and a cozy lounge with 50” video wall where they can watch Cignal TV channels.

As the region’s commercial and cultural center, Naga is one of the Philippines’ fastest-growing cities. The partnership with PLDT Home will further the city’s capabilities and its robust local economy, and empower the digital lifestyles of its residents.

“We look forward to this partnership with the local government of Naga City to help bring the power of Fibr to more homes,” PLDT FVP and Head of Home Business Oscar A. Reyes, Jr. said. “With world-class internet from PLDT Home Fibr, we can help families take advantage of opportunities enabled by digital technology.”

PLDT Home Fibr now empowers Nagueños to experience high-speed equal upload and download speeds, and enjoy diverse and compelling entertainment and gaming content from PLDT Home partners and renowned providers like iflix, Netflix, Fox+, and iWant TV, among others, for as low as P1,899 per month.

Families will also enjoy added peace of mind with home security devices such as the home monitoring system Fam Cam, the cyber security platform Fam Zone and the multi-functional kiddie gadget Smart Watch which parents can use to track and contact their kids.

Naga City Vice Mayor Nelson Legacion added, “Strong partnerships are key to the growth of any major city, and we are honored to have PLDT, the Philippines’ telco leader on our side. Naga City is proud to be Fibr-powered.”

Naga City is only the first stop in PLDT Home’s continuous and aggressive expansion in the Bicol region. The country’s digital services leader targets to reach up to 4.4 million homes passed by end of the year, as part of its nationwide FTTH network rollout. PLDT has also deployed hybrid fiber technologies over its existing copper lines which can boost data speed of current subscribers up to 700 Mbps. By end-2018, PLDT envisions that all of its subscribers will be in “smart homes.”

PLDT has invested P300 billion or $6 billion over the last 10 years to roll out the country’s most extensive transmission and distribution network infrastructure which now has 150,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables that transport the growing data traffic of its fixed line and mobile networks.

PLDT Home has also recently declared Toledo City in Cebu and General Santos in Mindanao as ‘Fibr Cities’, signaling strengthened partnerships with local governments and communities to expand its footprint and bring world-class internet to more Filipinos.

#IAmUrbanBrave

I live in a city with a "probinsya feels". My life has been revolving around my day job and my passion as a blogger. I have recently made it a point to do two things that I love at the same time. My online life as a blogger has contributed so much to my day job being in the academe. It took me quite some time to figure it out and living in this part of the world will mean gadgets and accessories that will fit my lifestyle.Work, leisure, travel, blog, teach and do office work, oh wait I forgot, I am still a member of my family. We all have different roles in our lives and we need the right accessories, gadgets, bags and other things that will make our lives easier and comfortable.

Photo taken during my Urban trip to Taguig this April.
I see to it that when I purchase products, it should be something that can be useful in my line of work and my passion at the same time. Aside from the functions, it should be durable and long lasting that could withstand unwanted elements. There's always the option to get the affordable ones but quality is at stake. Patience and saving up can go a long way so to speak and it does save the environment too, like avoiding yourself to trash immediately low quality products. So I checked out this store, Urbanize which is a haven of "Supplies for the Urban Adventure" and found so many items that would complement my daily needs and lifestyle in general.

First would be something to deliver a primary need which is to stay hydrated using the Hydrapak Stash collapsible bottle. This is really a space saver when not in use, genius! This is perfect for my weekend getaways!

I bet that if you have a friend or a relative who is a teacher, going to and from work will always look like as if you are bringing school work to your home. Preparing lessons, checking papers etc. is always part of being a teacher. This Sherpani Camden Tote/Crossbody/Backpack (Birch) is really one way to still look fab despite all the things that a teacher needs to bring home. I'm almost a decade old in the academe and never a day passed by that I used a small bag lol.

My third must-have would be this Urbanize flattop backpack. There are days that I transform to a blogger after office hours. This means that I have to bring with me my camera and necessary blogging accessories whenever we have blogging duties in the city alongside my existing office things. Carrying my essentials is like function and fashion at the same time with this backpack.

Let's face it, urban jungles also breed bad elements. Being vigilant and wise are two important characteristics these days especially for professionals. The anti-theft features of this Lewis N. Clark Secura collection utilizes straps with embedded stainless steel cables, has flexible Magnaloft™ fabric panels provide slash protection in critical compartments, with superb Locking hardware and zippers and RFID blocking features for identity theft protection. This is definitely a must-have especially for our hard-earned investments. Exploring the world can definitely be this confident with the Secura collection.

Working people move to places not only for leisure but for growth. Part of my work also brings me to Metro Manila for training, conferences, conventions and the like. I have always been a backpack person for my travels to the metro and this 27L rugged pack designed for comfort of transport and protection of digital essentials called the Thule Paramount will obviously do the job. A 2-3 days conference in Manila is definitely easy-peasy with this bag.

This is from our last work/leisure trip to the Metro a few weeks ago.

I hope the  next time I have this kind of photo, it's an Urbanize product on my back. :)
So there, if you want to check out their line of  brands and Urban Adventure supplies, head on to their Facebook page HERE or website http://www.urbanize.com.ph

Sunnies Studios at Soleil, Ayala Malls Legazpi

When the sun is out, I would rather have my eyes protected than using an umbrella, no kidding. Both my mom and sister adore sunglasses and of no doubt that I myself has the same fascination towards this accessory.

Soleil at Ayala Malls Legazpi
The "It girls" have been so famous that these models turned entrepreneurs has offered an affordable and stylish luxury to ladies and gents through the brand Sunnies Studios. Last December 2016, Soleil (located at Ayala Malls Legazpi), the exclusive distributor of Havaianas in South Luzon, also brought Sunnies Studios to Bicolanos. Upon learning about the opening of Sunnies in Bicol, I could not help but become excited as Legazpi is much more closer to Naga than Manila.

For many, sunglasses are an important part of their daily wardrobe. Sunnies Studios is definitely your go-to eyewear source. For as low as P299 you can get to enjoy a variety of design that will suit your face shape and style.

The first time I bought a pair of Sunnies, it was still at Robinsons Manila. I was then out of Bicol for a work-related trip which happens for at least once or the most twice a year. So, Soleil in Ayala Malls Legazpi really saves the day for all the months of waiting just to purchase one from the metro. The first pair that I had was the Lolita (in sepia) that I normally keep inside the car.

The next two pairs that I bought from Soleil Ayala Malls Legazpi just last February was the Corey and Elin both in shades of black. Mom bought Hunter and my sister also bought a green Elin and another pair. Prior to that, when I bought the Lolita, I also got the old rose Pluto for my sis. See how serious we are? lol.

Corey
I normally get colors and shades that can be used for all throughout of the year. BUT, sometimes it just depends on the color of my apparel or just because I'm in a certain mood.

I'm currently in love with The Kiko in Sepia Gradient (modeled by Liza Soberano will make you even want it more) but is currently out of stock online huhu. I was hoping just to get it shipped, wishing that it would be available soon enough. Or, I think I'll just have to wait for updates from Soleil's FB or IG account for Kiko's availability. I hope Soleil can also consider opening at Robinsons Place Naga and bring Sunnies Studios too.

How about you guys, what's your favorite Sunnies? Comment down below and don't forget to share!

5 #NcDFoodTrip Stops on the way to Albay

Sharing to you my favorite food stops when traveling to Albay. Usually we drop by these stops when driving back to Naga, so it really depends when you get hungry during your trip or just have them as pasalubong.

With me is Q*bert, a Red Mars Ford EcoSport Titanium (Black Edition). Traveling as a blogger can be unpredictable to the point of encountering unpaved roads, potholes, floods and many more. With a crossover, there is this confidence because of the ground clearance  not unlike the sedan. It may cost you a little extra but it's worth the save in due time. To know more about the Ford EcoSport and it's fun feats, CLICK HERE.

Bastian Food House 📍Polangui, Albay 📌 Must try: Empanada, they aso have good meals being served. Nice place for a stopover for your long drives. (I can't find my photo na 😞)

Rice Puto and Baduya/Maruya/Sinapot📍 Near the Ligao/Guinobatan Boundary 📌 Must try: Rice Puto (Macapuno Flavor)

Don Juan's Puto / Don Juan's Favorites (Since 1947)📍Guinobatan Proper. An ancestral house-turned restaurant (Landmark is near the bridge/creek). You won't get lost here, once you drive thru the town proper it's just along the highway) 📌 Must try: Puto Bilog, Puto Lanson and other specialties. They also serve Kinalas here and other noodle dishes plus meals. Don't forget to take your photos, the place has a nice facade.

Pinangat and Inolukan 📍Camalig Albay. Don't get confused. Here in Naga and Rinconada area, our Pinangat has a filling (may laman na either shrimp or crab meat particularly ugama), while in Camalig it's the Inolukan. Pinangat in Camalig is purely made of leaves. 📌 Try Let's Pinangat or other stores at the downtown area. At Let's they also sell good Chicharon hehe.

Pure Suka / Coco Vinegar 📍Camalig, Albay
(Apologies, I keep on forgetting the exact barangay of the residences that sells the vinegar, but it's just along the highway, refer to photo)
