๐Just a little back story. 2016, SM City Naga I was also one of the participants with of the painting activity. I have always admired Bicolano artists especially in the medium of paint and brush. Being a Josephian, we were also taught by our Chinese Nuns and Priests on how to hold a “mopit” (brush) and do the words. Sort of a calligraphy in the words of the youth today. Water color / paint and mixing them is another skill. Do I have that, I honestly don’t know haha but I like activity itself. Letting the energy flow freely as you hold the brush is very therapeutic. See my output back in 2016 vs today ๐ nakakasupog haha
Thank you Sir Alex Lim for teaching us again. You are right, 7 years was enough to practice, hopefully I will be able to ignite the artistic side of me in the near future. ๐จ๐ฉ๐จ
Painting is Chan Lim's another way of giving back to the community. Apart from their own professions as owners of prestigious companies and as providers of employment, painting is a nourishing way of giving back to the community. Through painting they are able to help nourish the artistic ability of people. Feast your eyes with the numerous fans, lanterns, plates and scrolls painted by the Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students.
This exhibit is a very nice way to immerse in another culture. All of us are enjoined to see the collection up close. Other than art, the strong family values, nature appreciation are exquisitely shown in all the pieces.
